“Believe in your dreams. Follow them. Reach for them. Make them happen.”

OPPORTUNITY TO ASSIST LEHS JUNIOR ROTC

Please see the attached letter below submitted by one of our classmates and take this opportunity to consider making a personal donation to this worthy cause.  These “kids” work really hard to compete and more often than not win their drill competitions.  If you’ve ever seen them perform, they are amazing.  ROTC was very instrumental in making our tour of LEHS in conjunction with our 50th reunion a success under the direction of Sargeant Major Oswald.  Many of the kids come from some very tough/poor homes and ROTC teaches them responsibility and respect, their grades improve and most go on to pursue a higher education after high school.  Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
Checks should be made payable to:  Lynn English MCJROTC & mailed to:
Lynn English High School
ATTN: MCJROTC ( Sargeant Major Oswald)
50 Goodridge Street
Lynn, MA 01902

Thank you for your consideration.

Significance of Veterans’ Day 2018

Veterans’ Day 2018 is a federal holiday (previously known as Armistice Day) observed annually on November 11, not only in the United States but in many other countries throughout the world. In the United States, it is a day that honors all men and women that have served as military veterans in the United States Armed Forces. Additionally, Veteran’s Day 2018 is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended the World War I hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. Veterans Day 2018 should not be mistaken with Memorial Day; Veterans’ Day celebrates the service of all United States military veterans, while Memorial Day honors those who died while in military service. For a listing of members of the Class of 1965 who are veterans click https://lynnenglish1965.info/category/veterans/  and scroll down to the listing in a previous posting.

Thank you LEHS Veterans
Especially the Class of 1965
For your service and Your sacrifice

Memorial List Update March 2016

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jacqueline Laubner Hynes. It was reported in the Lynn Item that one of our teachers, Theodore G. Laubner (Ted) age 99, passed away on the 23rd of September.  In the obituary it was listed that he was predeceased by his daughter Jacqueline Laubner Hynes, who was one of our classmates.  After some research, it was discovered in the Tampa Bay Times that “Jackie” passed on March 1, 2016, 6 months after attending our 50th reunion.  Those of you that attended the reunion may remember seeing Jackie.  She was the lady in the wheelchair.  May they, and all the rest of our classmates who have passed before us, rest in peace.   Click here to visit our class Memorial List.
