Automatic notification of postings on the LEHS Class of 1965 web site

If you received this notification by email you are registered in a program known as FeedBurner. The following is part of the notification we received from Google.

FeedBurner has been a part of Google for almost 14 years, and we’re making several upcoming changes to support the product’s next chapter
Starting in July, we are transitioning FeedBurner onto a more stable, modern infrastructure. This will keep the product up and running for all users, but it also means that we will be turning down most non-core feed management features, including email subscriptions, at that time.

Once this happens you as a user will have to periodically check our website to see if any new information has been posted.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this will cause but it is beyond our control. We will be investigating alternative methods for notification.

LEHS Class of 1965, 2021 Scholarship Recipients

Thanks to the generosity of our classmates, we were once again able to give two scholarships to The LEHS Class of 2021!

Samantha Parker received our $1000 Scholarship.  Samantha is #2 in her class and plans to attend Northeastern University where she will major in Biology.  At LEHS she is an Executive in Student Government, on the Staff of the Yearbook, a member of the Swim Team and in the National Honor Society.  In her spare time she volunteers at the Atrium at Veronica Drive for Alzheimer’s patients, Hood Elementary School student functions and The Walk to End Alzheimer’s registration table.

Noelle Cote received a $700 Scholarship.  Noelle plans to attend Curry College where she will major in Biology (pre-med).  She participates in Cheerleading, Volleyball, Art Club and Friends of Rachel Club.  She has worked part time at local retail stores and restaurants since she was 15 years old.

Both of these young ladies have worked very hard and done so well.  We wish them much success and happiness.

The girls go out again

The  “65”girls got together for lunch at the Gannon on May 11th.  We added a “Passed The Hat” for the Scholarship fund. We have decided to do that at every lunch to help the program. We raised a tidy sum.. Donations are always welcome.

Memorial List Update April 28, 2021

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Michael F. Schulze of Peabody who died April 28, 2021, at the Edith Nourse Rogers Veteran’s Memorial Hospital in Bedford.  Mike was a member of the LEHS Class of 1965 Reunion Committee who will be missed.  His Obituary is reported in the Boston Globe at https://legcy.co/3vAG7ma  May he, and all the rest of our classmates who have passed before us, rest in peace.  Click here to visit our class Memorial List

LEHS Class of ’65 Scholarship

Our class is once again planning to award a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving student in the graduating class of 2021.  The past year has been very difficult for everyone but especially students.  Seniors hoping to head off to college in the Fall have lost so much so we are happy to be able to follow through once again with a scholarship from our class.  Please go to the following website in several days to see the posted Class of ’65 application form:  LEHSguidance.org and click on Scholarship & Financial Aid to find the application.  Note:  Preference may be made to a grandchild of a Class of ’65 classmate.

Scholarship Donations

Classmates!  It’s that time of year again.  Over the past 28 years you as a class have been very generous.  We have awarded over $29,000 in scholarships.  We would welcome donations large and small to possibly award a second $1,000 scholarship or replenish our funds to be able to award one next year.  You can request a Scholarship Donation form on our website.  Thank you for considering this worthy cause.
