Thank you to the classmates who have recently made contributions to the Scholarship Fund. This year we had many amazing students apply for our scholarship and we were able to give two $1,000 scholarships to Owen McCarthy and James Mulloy. Scholarship Donations are always welcome and as you can see put to good use. In order to continue this class tradition, please consider making a donation so next year we may be able to present a $5,000 Scholarship to a worthy student in our 60th Anniversary year.
A special shout out once again to Fred Bollen to thank him for presenting our scholarships at the LEHS Awards Night on June 5th to these very smart and deserving students.
Owen McCarthy ranks 30th in the class of 506 students. He plans to attend UMass Lowell and major in Environmental Engineering. Owen has played Lacrosse on the Lynn Jets and was captain his senior year, he was selected for the Agganis All Star Lacrosse Game; ran Cross Country all four years @ LEHS; was in the Environmental Club, on the Quiz Team, was a Senior Mentor all the while working part-time at Pottery Barn Kids his junior & senior year. At Pottery Barn he learned some woodworking skills building furniture, etc. He credits his Lacrosse Coach, “Coach Papp”, (Peter Pappagianopoulos) as the individual that shaped & influenced him.
James Mulloy ranks 100th in his class. He also plans to attend UMass Lowell and major in Electrical Engineering. He has been active in MCJROTC for the past three years earning the position of Officer (Lieutenant); a member & organizer of the Chess Club; was a Senior Mentor; has done Community Service for Lynn Parcs and Rec while working his senior year at BigLots. James is the grandson of Jane (Signor) Nauss.
Both are outstanding students and we wish them much success and happiness at college and in life.
