Ian Brown was the recipient of our $6,000 scholarship (in honor of our 60th Anniversary of our graduation). We had 7 applicants. They were all very deserving students but Ian won us over with his very personal essay. Prior to the Awards Ceremony we had received $3,000 made in donations toward this year’s scholarship, we are hopeful to receive the remaining amount when classmates purchase their tickets.
Ian plans to attend Regis College and major in Nursing. He was ranked 32 in a class of 570. The classes are growing and getting much closer to our number of 632. He played Varsity Lacrosse for 4 years, was captain for 2 seasons; played Varsity football for 3 years; Varsity golf for his senior year & inducted into the National Honor Society for the 11th & 12th grades. In 2024 he was an Item All Star. He has worked the past 3 years at MarketBasket, then at Andy’s Breakfast & Lunch, also being a peer tutor in the guidance office after school mostly Spanish speaking all the while being on the honor roll sophomore year and high honor roll junior & senior year.
We wish Ian much success in college & in life. We thank Fred Bollen for taking the time to present our scholarship on Awards night to Ian.
